What we are studying
Women's Bible Study "Women of the Covenant: Spiritual Wisdom from Women of the Bible". Meets 1st & 3rd A new study will be starting up in the fall of 2010.
COME AND GROW! A new seminar series where we will be introduced to- or go deeper into some topics that are central to our faith and growth in the Kingdom of God. These are interactive, intergenerational sessions that will include some introductory lessons and engaging large and small group activities. Each seminar has an accompanying resource that we will offer to participants to either prepare them for the seminar or help them to further their learning afterwards. Each seminar must meet a minimum pre-registration number. Here are the seminars scheduled thus far: Sept. 27, 2009 (sign up by 9/18): "Seeing the Big Picture." Resource: "God's Big Picture," by Vaughan Roberts ($10). We will talk about God's story. What is the Bible really all about? What are the major movements in Redemption History? When we see the big picture, it helps us to get our bearings both in our lives and when we open up the Bible. Nov. 1, 2009 (sign up by 10/23): "It's All Greek (and Hebrew) to Me." Resource: "How to Read the Bible Book by Book," by Fee and Stuart ($13). You don't have to be a seminary grad or Bible scholar to understand what God is saying to us in the Bible. We will present some concrete tools to help you mine the Scriptures in your search for Jesus and God's will, and put into practice together some of those tools. You can enjoy the gift of God's Word! Dec. 6, 2009 (sign up by 11/27): "Good News Doesn't Have to Be Scary." Resource: "Sharing Your Faith with Friends and Family," by Michael Green ($11). We know we're supposed to share the Gospel with others. But it can be pretty uncomfortable and scary. Sometimes we don't know how to start the conversation and others we're afraid we won't know what to say once it's begun. We will explore all that God has given us to help us share the Good News of Jesus in a loving and effective way.
Young Adult Study "Revelation" Join us as we study the Revelation, a book of wierd monsters and wonderful angels and discuss what it has to say to our lives today. Meets Sunday during 2nd service at 10:30 AM. Led by Dave Hess
